Hope City Council Advances Special Session Road Plan
Hope city council met in a special session Tuesday afternoon to approve major work on Last Third street from Highway 67, lowering water mains to reduce breakage and laying a three block base rather than patchwork. Alderman Williams was absent ill. City Engineer Thomas and Alderman Young headed plans with construction officials in Little Rock to finalize timing and details. A major accident occurred last Sunday near the road, and residents had urged paving and widening. A separate note cites grapefruit juice consumption rising to about 6,000,000 cases yearly from 274,000 a decade prior.
