Finding Eight Bodies In Speck Case Revealed By Detective

Detective Jack Wallenda described locating the eight bodies of murdered nurses as the Speck trial moves with rapid evidence. Wallenda, a 14 year veteran, testified he was first on the scene at the South Side Chicago house after Corazon Amarao identified Richard Speck as the killer.

Benton grant aids water system expansion in Arkansas

Washington announces a 224000 grant to Benton Arkansas to help fund an expansion of the water distribution system. Larry Faulk 36 of Hill Creek Conway County died in Little Rock hospital from injuries after a car struck his bicycle last Saturday. Huckabee and Elaine Fuller will ride in the Rodeo parade on April 13 with FFA members flanking each girl. Baker Sentenced to 13 Years in Tax Case

Bob Baker, former Senate aide, was sentenced by Judge Oliver Gasch to not less than one year and not more than three years in prison on seven counts of income tax evasion. He may appeal and could be free on bond during appeals. Baker resigned in 1963 amid financial questions, has faced scrutiny over funds raised for campaigns, and was linked to Lyndon Johnson and Robert Kerr. In a parallel note, Arkansas Gov. Winthrop Rockefeller signed 132 bills, mainly appropriations, into law.

AWOL Soldiers Arrested in FBI Sweep

The FBI says it arrested Lamar Qdom, 21, and his brother Charles Qdom, 18, both from Tampa Florida. Lamar was reported AWOL from Fort Polk Louisiana and Charles from the Memphis Naval Air Station in Tennessee.

Hale Seeks Arkansas Young Democrats Presidency

Hale, 29, of North Little Rock, announced his bid to lead the Arkansas Young Democrats Club. He is a lawyer practicing in Little Rock and Prescott and would not seek office during his term. Hale previously served as an administrative aide to former Gov. Orval Faubus and as an assistant attorney general aide for Joe Purcell.

In Paris Humphrey laid a wreath at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier after demonstrations. Unconscious Since 1959 Man Dies in Little Rock

Dr. Hans Schlumberger, 54, who had been unconscious since injuries from a 1959 car crash, died Thursday in a Little Rock hospital. A noted comparative pathologist, he once led the University of Arkansas Medical Center pathology department. Survived by widow, son Charles, daughters Ann and Jane, all of Little Rock. Senior Play Scheduled April 20-21 at Hope High
