Youth Sets Fire at Monticello destroys two buildings

Eight Cornell students die in dormitory fire

Eight students and a male faculty adviser perished in a predawn blaze at a 15 year old Cornell dormitory in Ithaca New York. Ten were injured none seriously. The building housed 70 people including freshmen in a six year program. A memorial service was scheduled for Sage Chapel at 2 p.m. Friday.

Bids for 30 Link Near Prescott

Bids will be opened April 26 for six highway projects totaling about 3.7 million dollars announced by the Arkansas Highway Commission. Projects include paving 9.2 miles of Interstate 40 from Pottsville to the Atkins interchange and alterations at Fort Smith district facilities. Sentencing in Hempstead fatal shooting case outlined

In Hempstead Circuit Court yesterday Judge Bill Ars wold presided as J. W. Armstrong was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the fatal shooting of Gladys Fisher. He received one year suspended, a $500 fine. James L. Blevins was found guilty of driving an auto without the owner's consent, fined $60 and 90 days in jail.
