Funds for Hood River's Fourth of July celebration are being raised with an expected total between five and six hundred dollars. Harold Hershner, Cruikshank and A. B. Kerr secured $500 in a half day of work. Several business leaders are interviewed and additional pledges likely push the total above $500. Committees plan a celebration one of the finest in years. The Fourth will see a big turnout and a major event in the town.

The McKean type gasoline motor car, eighth in service, was shown in Hood River from 12 to 2 with over 200 residents visiting. The car measures 72 feet long, weighs 74000 pounds, has 700 horsepower engines, hot water heating, gas lighting, automatic ceiling vents, and separate passenger and baggage compartments.
