Hood River High School Completes Commencement Week
Hood River high school wrapped up a week of events with a four act performance Christopher Jr at Pine Grove grange hall drawing a large crowd. The baccalaureate and graduation followed, with Rev W C Gilmore delivering the principal address and diplomas awarded to a large class including special graduates and the University of Oregon scholarship recipient Miss Lelia Radford.

Hood River strawberries moved carload by North Bank route via White Salmon to Great Northern and Northern Pacific. shift due to American Express rate dispute with Pacific company. Destructive Hood River Fire Kills Machinist Ray Utter
A Hood River blaze last Wednesday caused about 25 000 dollars in losses and killed young machinist Ray Utter. Companion Ernest Bogge s was badly burned but expected to recover. Several others sustained burns while aiding in rescue efforts as fire destroyed the Hood River Manufacturing and Engineering Company shop and nearby buildings.

An insane man led services in a Hood River school building on Maple Lane late Sunday night. He rang the school bell prayed and played the organ until 12 o clock, resisted officers, and was identified as Joseph Gerkling of Hood River.
