Beauregard House Destroyed by Fire
Early Monday fire destroyed the Beauregard home at 1004 Pleasant View Avenue. W. T. Beauregard woke to flames and evacuated his family. Neighbors aided in saving nearby properties before a second flare prompted a full soaking by the fire department. The fire, a wind aided blaze, left the bungalow a total loss with $500 in insured value on the structure and similar coverage for contents. The family escaped in nightclothes with only clothing salvaged.

East Side Grade Improvement Completed on Council Project
An extensive project on the East Side grade finished Tuesday under city council direction. Workers trench for a new outfall sewer while the $2000 appropriation was spent to the dollar, widening the road and adding a retaining wall to prevent landslides.
