Prof. Cordley of Oregon State College investigated Hood River orchards after reports of burned apples from lime and sulphur spray during hot weather. He found damage mainly on sunlit sides, varied by variety, and noted some trees showed foliage damage only. Growers formed the Hood River Apple Growers Fellowship to pursue an expert and possible substation funding.
