Jerome B. Mason died Monday morning from old age and pneumonia. He served in the Civil War from youth, wounded in a saber fight, later joined the St. Louis police for forty one years, and retired to spend years with his son. Funeral at Mine Grove Church at two this afternoon with Rev M Unison officiating and the local G A E in charge.

The sudden death of Mrs E J Young at age 46 surprised a wide circle of friends who knew her in the city. She had been active in social life and planned to visit Erie Pennsylvania with her husband before illness worsened. A brief funeral was held at St Mark's Episcopal Church, and the body was sent to Erie for burial. She leaves two sons Lynn and Willard and a daughter Mrs A J Derby.
