St James Lutheran Church Allens Chapel Community schedules its annual Mission Festival for Sunday October 18 worship at 1030 a.m. Guest speaker Rev Delmer Brack from Wichita Kansas a former pastor will deliver the sermon from Luke 17 11 19 Theme Stand Up for Christ Sunday School begins 930 a.m. A covered dish luncheon follows at noon at the Allens Chapel Community Center Public invited to attend.

Heritage Home Tour Draws 300 to 400 Attendees

Queen and Princess Contestants Named at Fannin County Fair
Honey Grove will be represented in the Fannin County Free Fair queen and princess contests October 22-24. Beverly Poimboeuf is among seven queen contestants. four Honey Grove girls Leslie Charles Jessica Ely Roni Kaye Joplin Kimberly Reece are among 18 princess entrants. Other queen contestants include Debbie Singleton Fannin del Julia Anne Bellows Kim Waggoner Charley Dodson Elizabeth Ann Harris and Tracy Bodden. Warriors Ready For Princeton After Homecoming Win
Honey Grove Warriors beat Community Braves 21-6 to notch their third win in six games. Stan Stevenson passed for 142 yards while Lonnie Franklin and Lon Adams produced key plays including a punt return TD and a late interception. The defense sealed the victory with a 24 yard pickoff return. Warriors travel to Princeton Friday to face the Panthers.

Fannin County will receive 136,421 from the state lateral road fund, part of 25,770,675 allocated to 254 Texas counties for road construction and improvement.
