The Union Vacation Church School run with the Methodist and Presbyterian Churches closed Friday after a 53 enrollment and 45 average attendance. Director Mrs Earl Roberts led teachers and helpers across grades with music and refreshment staff aiding, and Rev Hawkins and Rev Osborne assisting. Students sang at the Methodist Church Sunday night as part of worship.

The July draft call for Texas totals 696 men from the Army per Colonel Morris B. Schwartz state selective service director.
