Forest Grove Cemetery Association hosts annual Homecoming at Telephone Community Center on Sunday June 22 with 11 am activities and 12 15 pm lunch followed by a 1 15 pm business meeting. Honey Grove Church of Christ offers Vacation Bible School June 23 27 from 9 30 am to 11 30 am with crafts and Bible study. Honey Grove Golf Club holds a three day Low Ball Golf Tournament July 4 weekend at Honey Grove City Course with 54 holes, two man teams, flights, cash prizes, and youth flight. St Mark's Episcopal Church to celebrate service Sunday June 22 at 5 pm led by Father Phillip Gill. Allens Chapel Community Club meets Friday June 20 at 7 pm with covered dish supper and games. Honey Grove Commission Tables Budget. Appoints EMS Medical Directors
At the June Honey Grove City Commission session the 1986-87 budget approval was tabled for July due to a commissioner’s absence. The proposed expenditures total about $550,000, matching the prior year's spending. The meeting also appointed two Paris physicians, Dr. Bill Woodruff and Dr. G Bert Strom, as EMS Ambulance Service medical directors and consultants.

Pioneer Week and Rodeo Set for Honey Grove
Honey Grove hosts Pioneer Week from Sunday June 29 through Saturday July 5 with events across town. Highlights include a Gospel singing at Crockett Park, a Rocking Chair Marathon with a $300 prize, a rodeo arena shows, crafts fair, fish frys, street dances, a parade, and a bevy of games and contests culminating in the CRA approved rodeo finals. The celebration emphasizes local heritage linked to Davy Crockett with exhibits, window displays, and historical artifacts. Local organizations and merchants organize activities throughout the week inviting residents and visitors to participate.

Windom Lions Park Pavilion Opens in Windom Community Park
Windom Texas celebrates the completion of a 30 by 70 foot steel pavilion in the Windom Community Park. Built by the town and Windom Lions Club, construction began in May and finished within two weeks. The project total is about 7500 dollars with over 2800 donated by Lions and about 2400 in contributions so far. The facility includes lighting, a concrete slab, outlets, and seating with plans for further improvements and a maintenance fund. Donations continue through Lions Club members.

Wheat producers to be polled on mandatory acreage limits
The Agriculture Department will mail a nonbinding poll to nearly 2 million wheat producers to gauge support for mandatory production caps aimed at lifting prices to 125 percent of production costs. Secretary Lyng urges voting against the plan, which could idle up to half of current crops and affect U S export markets. Last year the Honey Grove area produced over 150 million pounds of wheat.
