Kimberly-Clark has acquired options on about 238 acres near New Paris as a potential site for a Kleenex Hug gies disposable diapers plant. If built, the facility would hire about 275 people with payroll over $1 million, mostly local residents, at the FM Road 137 and State Highway 286 intersection.
The Oak Ridge Church of Christ announces a gospel meeting from June 20 to 25 with nightly 8 p.m. services led by Charles Wrenn of Leonard. In Paris, Kimberly-Clark outlines a multimillion dollar 430000 square foot plant with automated distribution warehouse, 12 month build, contingent on permits financing and studies.
Dr Claude E Caffee a guidance counseling professor at Henderson State University has been appointed director of special services He graduates from East Texas State and West Lamar High School and is married with two sons He will oversee tutoring study skills and adaptation to college life and notes prior Title II work on a developing institution grant aiding student learning He came to Henderson in 1975 after teaching and graduate work in counselor education
Raymond H. Lindholm Jr. of Paris announces Robert E. Long to replace retired B. P. Burtner as Supervising Resident Engineer of Fannin County. Long, a native of Fannin County and veteran, holds BS and MS degrees from Texas A&M, earned a PhD, and has served in the Army and Corps of Engineers. He will assume duties June 1 1982 and is a registered public surveyor and Baptist Church member with three children.
Area church employees are being denied Social Security protection due to misunderstandings, while some church governing boards accumulate delinquent F.S.C.A. taxes. Gus Jones, Social Security District Manager, notes the issue and directs attention to this problem. See related coverage on page 4.
The Texas Highway Patrol logged 21 accidents in May across Lamar and Fannin counties, with 6 injury crashes causing 14 injuries in Lamar, and 1 fatal crash with 2 deaths and 4 injuries in Fannin. Troopers urge adherence to 55 mph speed limits and sober driving, plus seat belt use on all trips.

The Allens Point Community Improvement Club schedules its regular meeting for Monday June 21 at 7 00 p m weather permitting. If outdoor conditions fail the gathering moves to the church fellowship hall. Members and friends are urged to attend.

Mr and Mrs Jess Stephens of Bedford announce the birth of a son, William Mathis, on Monday June 7 at Harris Hospital in Fort Worth. The baby weighed 7 pounds 14 ounces. Grandparents are Mrs Roscoe McNeal of Honey Grove and Mrs Lon Stephens of Mineral Wells along with the Mahler and Stephens families. Great grandparents include Mrs B M Mahler of Heidenheimer and Mrs Brody Branson of Beggs Oklahoma.
Honey Grove School Board named Bill Francis head coach and defensive coordinator for the Warriors for 1981. Francis, a Bonham native who played multiple sports at Bonham High and coached at Bells High, will lead the Honey Grove program after joining last year. The board also approved financial and accreditation actions and other personnel moves in the June meeting.
Lubbock Texas Tech University lists over 2 200 students on the deans honor rolls for the 1982 spring semester. Julia A Tredway Route 2 Honey Grove is named among the honorees, daughter of Bobby and Judy Tredway and granddaughter of Esther Peeck and Johnnie Faye Halliburton.
Mary and Joe Williams have opened Marys Place in the west edge of Honey Grove, replacing Jean's Restaurant. The cafe serves Mexican food and fresh catfish daily from 5 AM to 10 PM, with lunch 11 AM to 2 PM and a Friday catfish night. memberships will soon be offered for the swimming pool.
The Corps postpones treatment of 100 acres of Eurasian watermilfoil at Pat Mayse Lake near Paris due to lake levels nearly eight feet above normal. Lt Col Richard S Waldrop said high water hinders locating milfoil and reducing control effectiveness. If ideal conditions persist, further action may follow.
The Little League season wraps up on June 24 with a 12 game schedule due to rainouts. Through eight games the Rangers hold a perfect record as trophies are awarded and All-Stars named. Nell Blacketer will take $5 pictures at 5 30 p.m. for individuals and teams.
M N Neeley of Sherman an agent for the Missouri Pacific Railroad received a special limited edition plaque recognizing forty injury free years with the railroad. Neeley, a Honey Grove resident, is brother to Manuel Neeley and to Mrs. Claude Richardson and Mrs. Joe Huffer of the town.
The administration is interviewing assistant coaches band directors and English teachers for the 1982 83 athletic director position as the search continues.
The Texoma Area Agency on Aging seeks input for the 1982 Area Plan on Aging with four public hearings in Grayson, Fannin and Cooke Counties on July 2, 7, 8 and 9. A funding of about 641,816 dollars from the Older Americans Act and Texas Department on Aging supports services for seniors in the Texoma Region for fiscal year 1982–83, a reduction of 81,932 from last year. The Fannin hearing is July 8 at 10:30 a.m. at the Bailey Senior Center in Bailey.
