St James Welcomes New Pastor Rev George Luecke
Rev George Luecke will be installed as pastor of St James Lutheran Church next Sunday evening June 23 at 7 30 in a service at Grace Lutheran Denison where he will also serve. Luecke grew up in Chicago and studied at Concordia Seminary. He previously served as missionary in India and as vacancy pastor of St James since October. The call to regular pastor was extended in May and accepted. He noted the rural ministry differences but expressed appreciation for his work with St James Congregation and prayer for God’s blessing.

Bonham city and Fannin county officials urged the State Highway Department to extend State Highway 121 north from its U S 82 junction to meet State Highway 78 near Boyd. They also discussed widening U S 82 east of Bonham and adding curb and gutter in Windom and Dodd City, while maintaining support for U S 82 improvements along the current route. All Transfers of School Students Gain Approval

The Church of Christ hosted missionary Robert Yarbrough of Japan as Sunday evening guest speaker. He teaches Bible at Ibaraki Christian College and is on a months furlough. The Honey Grove church plans continued monthly support for his work in Japan and aids other missions in Milano Italy and Eau Claire Wisconsin. Last Rites Held In Gainesville For T. Frank Blagg
Funeral services for T. Frank Blagg, 72, of Gainesville, a former Bonham barber, were set for 4 p m Tuesday, June 11, 1963, at a Gainesville Funeral Home. He died Sunday night June 9 after several months illness. Survivors include his widow Bessie Woods Blagg of Gainesville and one son Frank W. Blagg, five brothers, two sisters, two grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was born February 15, 1891, at McDade, Bastrop county, and belonged to the Masonic lodge and First Christian Church.
