The Honey Grove Signal Citizen recalls the Remember When column begun March 7 1974, reproducing articles from early local papers dating back to the 1870s through the mid-1930s. Over four years it produced 218 columns with photos and biographical pieces, a Bi CentenniaI edition, and dozens of special articles. The editors admit spelling lapses and fatigue from late-night typing, but note broad reader appreciation and over 2000 readers.

Hal Fowler 31 of Honey Grove appointed adult and juvenile probation officer for Fannin County by Judge Henry Braswell after prior five years with Texas Youth Council as parole officer in a six county area. Volunteers Organize Ambulance Service in Honey Grove
A volunteer group formed to support Honey Grove ambulance operations began last week. Spearheaded by Gene Gandy, the volunteers will provide trained personnel around the clock at costs lower than fulltime paid staff. Sewell Sentenced to 10 Years for Heroin Delivery
Jerry Wayne Sewell of Ravenna received a 10 year sentence for delivery of heroin in Paris after a 25 year previous sentence for delivery of a controlled drug. The judge did not probate the sentence and it may run concurrent or consecutive with the prior term. A Lamar County jury convicted Sewell after an hour and 40 minutes of deliberation. He remains in federal custody in Tyler as testimony tied him to multiple drug purchases at Ravenna and Lamasco mobile homes on December 2, 1976.
