Erin Mahler of Honey Grove High School has been named an Academic All American Scholar by the National Secondary Education Council. The award recognizes students with a 3.3 GPA or higher, selected by teachers and counselors. Mahler will appear in the Academic All American Scholar Directory. her nomination came from Yo ng teacher Charles Yarbrough.

Dial Quilting Club to Host Second Annual Quilt Show
The Dial Quilting Club sponsors a Saturday show at the Dial Community Center eight miles south of Honey Grove on Highway 824. Hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Displayed items include old and new quilts, doll quilts, crib quilts, wall hangings, and pillows with a notable Friendship Quilt from 1940. Proceeds support the Dial Community Center Improvement Fund. admission is free and lunch/ bake sale offerings will fund community projects.
