The Honey Grove Warriorettes opened District play in Wolfe City last week and remained undefeated at 10-0 after a 46 to 28 win over the Wolfe City Lady Wolves. Senior Karla Fogelberg led with 24 points as the team built a 27-8 halftime lead.
The Warriors lost 56 to 53 at Pattonville as Stan Stevenson sparked a fourth quarter rally with 14 points to finish with 16. Lonnie Franklin added 12 and Lon Adams 10. JV fell 61-48. The Warriors next play district opener January 5 against Community Braves and Varsity competes in Leonard Holiday Tournament December 29 30 31.
St Mark's Episcopal Church will hold Christmas Mass on December 24 at seven o'clock. Father Phillip Gill, rector of Epiphany Church in Commerce, will be the celebrant.
A graduation ceremony Friday December 18 awarded bachelors masters and doctoral degrees to 524 graduates. Local residents listed include James Robert Chalaire Illa Fae Foster Culverhouse Janet Lawdon Pamela Taylor Wise Linda Carol Hollar plus others from Honey Grove Windom.

The Honey Grove Garden Club and Honey Grove Chamber of Commerce announced Christmas Door Decorating contest winners. On Sunday an early Christmas dinner was held with Mrs Edith Gray hosting. Attending were her son Robert C Gray of Austin with family, Don, Michael and John Gray, Burl, Sue and Brian of Richardson, and Joe Kay Emily and Josh of Plano.
The Westside Baptist Church marks its first anniversary this Sunday with Rev. Earl Castle giving thanks for supporters. All are invited to attend the morning worship and stay for a covered dish luncheon afterward.

Shellie Ivett daughter of Mr and Mrs Wayne Ivett 800 E Market Street Honey Grove was named FHA member of the month for November project work with the Garden Club painting and decorating litter barrels. As a senior her interests include Home Ec math and sports. She described FHA as a meaningful program.
The St James Lutheran Church in Allens Chapel Community will hold Christmas Eve services at 5 30 p m on Thursday December 24 The Rev Herman Hiegert will give a short Christmas message followed by the Sunday School children's program The congregation invites all to join this special occasion
