Fannin Delegates Attend State FB Convention
Six voting delegates from Fannin County Farm Bureau joined the 48th annual Texas Farm Bureau convention in Corpus Christi November 29 to December 2. Delegates heard from leaders Carrol Chaloupka and Robert B. Delano with policy actions advancing to the American Farm Bureau Federation meeting in January. County leaders attended energy labor taxes water and mineral topics and youth winners Marcie Langridge and John Duska were named TFB Queen and Talent Fund winner respectively.

Liability Insurance Mandatory Jan 1 1982
Representative L P Patterson reminds vehicle owners that as of January 1 1982 automobile liability insurance is mandatory. Owners must provide evidence of insurance upon request to police or others in an accident. Driving without coverage becomes a Class C misdemeanor with a $75 minimum fine. Subsequent offenses are Class B misdemeanors with at least a $200 fine. Those denied coverage can obtain insurance through the assigned risk pool.

Warriorettes and Warriors win Rivercrest tourney
In a Rivercrest Tournament run Honey Grove teams dominated both divisions. The Warriorettes lost Karla Fogelberg to injury but rallied to beat Cooper 46-38, and the Warriors overcame Detroit 62-60. Stan Stevenson led scoring with 23 in one game and 19 in another. Lon Adams, Lonnie Franklin, Karen Fogelberg, and Sheila Fields starred as both teams claimed first place trophies.
