Drowning Tragedy Near Holbrook Claims Clyde Rencher
Clyde Rencher twelve year old son of Mr and Mrs A L Rencher drowned yesterday afternoon while swimming in the Little Colorado river above the state highway bridge three miles east of Holbrook. Four boys were present with Clyde Lloyd Paulsell and Roy Cross also survived. his body was recovered from a five foot deep pool by Joel Flake. The boy showed signs of cramps and Lloyd Paulsell narrowly escaped drowning. Funeral services and burial will be held today in Eagar after the family travels there tonight with Dr Inez Smith accompanying them. The community extends sympathy to the Rencher family.

A deal closed this week transferring ownership of the Hotel Holbrook from M. A. Newsom to Mrs. M. A. Purcell of St. Johns, daughter of Newsom. Mrs. Purcell will run the property as a high class hotel. Newsom plans a California cattle venture after a mountain visit.
