President Taft and Champ Clark remain standard bearers for the old line parties while Roosevelt and Bryan face defeats. Some progressive papers suggest if Roosevelt and Bryan agree on leadership a new party could form with these opponents as sponsors.
At The Holbrook among the guests were J. W. Taft of Denver Miss Catherine Carney from San Francisco Milton Backstein Ricka Backstein Ray E J Mitchell from Prescott Oaoma Hale from Va Russ A Warner of San Francisco.

Justice Court heard that Boney Duran imagined he acted rightly when he cursed his wife and damaged household goods. A $2000 bond was set to ensure his future conduct. The case notes a ten cent argument with a stranger, with Tom Votoe alone appearing in court and presumed to have the law on his side.
Miss Rilla Howard remains ahead in the Daniels harness shop contest with Miss Pauline Greer close behind. A nine year old, son of Preston Bushman, was killed when a heavily laden wagon wheel ran over him near Porter's tank about twenty five miles from Holbrook. The boy and his father, returning from Holbrook, were near Dry Lake when he fell beneath the wagon. Funeral services were held at Snowflake and burial followed in Snowflake cemetery.

E. J. Gibson and C. T. Proctor visited Holbrook to review improvements by the Santa Fe railway. Plans include a 40 foot east-end addition to the depot with concrete construction, full remodel with new telegraph, ticket and express offices, waiting rooms, and added sidetracks and platforms. A new Parks Transportation express and ticket office rises near the hotel block, and bath house barbers shop work advances on the hotel grounds.
County Superintendent R C Smith reports a state advisory from C O Case noting a June 22 1912 board action. The Board of Education resolved to postpone all work toward implementing free textbooks this year due to the August 18 1912 effective date and bid restrictions.
Ray residents plan urgent rebuilding while authorities hunt Guadalupe Baldevino for the fatal shooting of Malarez Riminez in Flagstaff last week. A natural lake forms in San Simon from a newly sunk artesian well. A First State special session adjourned Saturday noon. After July 1 Mexico will require arsenical dip at border crossing. David Martinez, who killed his young wife in Cochise county, was captured in Mexico.
Smith delivered strong trap shooting on Sunday as Rencher chased closely. Hulet led with 151, McCleve 148, Rencher 147, Smith 146, Meyerhoff 140, with the Pont Trophy to be awarded next Sunday and Hulet holding the best chance to win.
