Congress Should Convene Sooner for Effective Government
At the opening of congress a proposed constitutional amendment would move presidential terms to January and electors to December, and require two regular sessions starting each January. Critics call the current 13 month wait after elections a travesty, urging earlier sessions to honor pledges and avoid wasted time.

Jud C. Lathrop has begun excavation for a new 27 by 133 foot Winslow brick business block between the Postal Telegraph office and M A Crouse ice cream parlor. It will house a barber shop, bath room, pool room, a bar, and a 27 by 75 foot hall with a 15 foot stage for public events. Q R Gardner handles stone work, private electric plant planned, total cost about $7,500 with moving picture machine contemplated.
