Bechtel Selected to Build Cholla Unit 4 in Arizona
Arizona Public Service selects Bechtel of Norwalk California to construct 350000 kilowatt Unit 4 at the Cholla Power Plant near Joseph City. The unit will start early next year with a 965000 kilowatt plant after all three units become APSs largest, costing over 500 million.

Many candidates filed petitions as the July 9 deadline nears for county offices to be filled at the September 7 primary. Races include county supervisors sheriff judge of the second division of the Superior Court county assessor treasurer school superintendent and county attorney. In the county attorney race three candidates have announced including two Democrats and incumbent Republican Robert Hall. Hall, Snowflake native and University of Arizona Law School graduate, faces opposition from Jay V. Flake Snowflake town attorney and seven year private practitioner also a UA Law graduate.
