Navajo Indian Sentenced for Cattle Theft
Last Monday morning Judge Sapp sentenced Navajo John Lefthand to the penitentiary for one year and one day on cattle theft charges. Lefthand and Harry John were bound over earlier by Justice Bover for stealing cattle from Navajo owners and selling them to Holbrook butcher Wm. Lee. Lefthand pleaded guilty and accepted sentence after notifying County Attorney Jordan. John was released on county attorney's recommendation. Sheriff Newman departed Wednesday for Florence to transfer Lefthand.
