Prisoners Caught Attempting To Escape In County Jail
Two prisoners Scott Patzke and Mike Annip attempted to escape by detaching a metal plate in their holding tank and squeezing between pipes into the area above the ceiling. The ceiling collapsed when weight was applied, dropping them about 10 feet from the booking desk where deputies captured them. The sheriff noted a miscalculation could have granted temporary freedom if the roof had collapsed a few feet differently.

Crossing Totally Destroyed By Flood
ADOT plans a detour and a bridge over the waterway after the Route 277 crossing was destroyed by floods last week. Holbrook district engineer Gene Ireland said it cost 26000 to repair March flood damage and bids for the bridge will be called in March.
