Grand Canyon National Park Superintendent D L Rayburn announces a bridge will span the Colorado river near Bright Angel trail to connect the south and north rims. The plan rejects Santa Fe railroad aerial crossing and begins construction around January 1, 1921 with material delivered to the trail foot for mule packing.

Passing of Judge James F. Mahoney
James J. Mahoney a pioneer of Arizona and Navajo county died at his Winslow home last Sunday. He was longtime Santa Fe conductor and a leading railroad employer official. In territorial days he led the Benson industrial school as superintendent under Govs Kibbey and Sloan. He served 12 years as an executive and friend to inmates, with few escapes. In recent years he was a justice of the peace in Winslow. He is survived by widow, daughter Willman Mahoney, and son Desmond Mahoney. many from Holbrook and Phoenix attended the funeral.

City Fathers Discuss East Porter Street Sidewalks

Parker Lands for Ex-Service Men
Ex-service men and others may secure up to ten years use of 13,000 acres in the Parker Indian reservation in Arizona. Government plans to improve the land and provide water at 3 per acre per year. About 7,000 acres are level with canals installed or planned. At five years the land is to be returned to the agency leveled with one fourth planted in alfalfa and fenced with three-strand wire.
