New Supervisor Appointed for Sitgreaves National Forest
A. W. Hoyt, formerly chief of the lands branch in the District Forester's Ogden Utah office, becomes supervisor of Sitgreaves National Forest in Arizona. He fills the post left by P. P. Pitchlynn, who moved to Coronado Forest. Hoyt joined the Forest Service in 1908 as a ranger and has nine years of Utah and Arizona forest experience.

Texas Ranger Force Increase Gets Senate Approval
In Austin the senate passed Hudspeth’s bill to raise the state ranger force to up to 1000 men with a 250 000 appropriation by 71 to 38. A motion to cut to 150 000 failed 44 to 63 and the measure awaits governor action with a 90 day delay and no house concurrence. The governor intends to proceed with the expansion.
