With Mrs James L Jones as justice of the moot court, the American Legion hut on Carlsbad avenue hosted a fines gathering for the Legion Auxiliary and Legionnaires to aid charitable funds. Coffee and doughnuts were served. Miss Annelee Eades arrived from San Antonio to stage a musical comedy for the Parents Association. A prom is being planned by students and citizens of Hobbs for November 22 and 23.

W W Cowboy Anderson dropped dead at the Tidwell Shows carnival grounds Saturday evening. An Odessa fight two days earlier involved a stabbing and a brick blow. Infant Dies From Injuries In Auto Mishap
Winley Stephenson, 18 months old, died at 11 10 AM from head injuries suffered in an auto mishap at 9 AM.
