Lea county plans a new town named Eldorado to begin Tuesday July 24, projected by L A Daniel who first mapped Hobbs. Eldorado sits on the railroad and highway 16 miles south of Eunice, 8 miles north of Ja!, and 112 miles east of the Cooper post office.

Hobbs residents learn Mrs Myrtle Wood died early Monday in El Paso. Telegram received by husband D E Wood, who left for El Paso with daughter Ernestine. Mrs Wood was well known in New Hobbs and Hobbs and highly esteemed for her exemplary qualities. The sorrow to the Sambly will be greatly felt.

Attorney John R. Brand returned Sunday from Santa Fe where he presented the completed transcript of the school bond issue purchased by the State. The attorney general endorsed the transcript, finalizing the bond sale of 80,000 dollars for school building purposes. School trustees meet tonight to consider building plans.
