Gigantic Singer factory at Clydebank eclipses local industry
A Kilbowie Clydebank factory employs nearly nine thousand workers turning out about eighteen thousand sewing machines weekly. The plant uses heavy labor division and machinery, with three locomotives shunting wagons and four large trains transporting workers to and from Glasgow and Dumbarton. A new cabinetmakers shop is under construction, six stories high, 300 yards long and 30 yards wide.
