Bluefields banana cuttings arrive to aid pineapple trials in Hawaii

Jared G. Smith reports five hundred Bluefields banana cuttings from Costa Rica have arrived, funded by the Territorial Board of Agriculture. The US Department of Agriculture procured them amid past fears of a fruit trust monopoly. The cuttings, costing only transport, aim to boost Bluefields cultivation here, with initial focus on propagation for ample future supply. The shipment passes through War Department channels, and no broad experimentation will occur immediately.
