Wilder's new steamer to boost Molokai route fleet
Wilder's Steamship Company ordered by President Charles J. Wight to build a 134 by 30 by 12 6 inch steel steamship at Union Iron Works San Francisco. Based on Kaiulani model, capacity just over 200 tons dead weight, contract speed few knots as half loaded. Five first class staterooms, sanitary design, carrying gear from Wilder fleet. Ready in 1904, cost $90,000. Vessel to serve Molokai route with notable passenger accommodations. Name to be chosen.
