Tree Planting Plans for Hawaii Plantations
David Haughs, field foreman of the forestry division, returned from Hawaii after eighteen days to map tree planting for Paavhau Honomu and Pepeekee siger plantations. He said trees are planted mainly for firewood and a beach strip will receive ironwood to shield cane from salt spray, with black wattle elsewhere if it grows. He also visited Waltes on Parker ranch for the hoard, noting twenty five thousand trees planted there in two years.
