Hamakik Cleat Approval and Local Art Notes
Htamakik Cleat Approvell CR at the experiment station at Hama Rud for about two years has sent a box of cigars made entirely of Hamakua tobacco to Sub land agent Willie. The cigars, unfermented, are not a sample of tobacco in perfect state. Durning qualities are good, and judges deem them reasonable for taste. J.C. Ridgway added to the Rilke art collection a self-made Old King Cole picture with verse, burned on wood, an ornament to club rooms. Ridgway also created a leather burned humorous skit for a Hilo young lady who became engaged to another, depicting the couple and a later scene with a telephone pole and a bag pipe, Ridgway appearing moonlight driving alone.
