Five Koreans convicted of murder in first degree
On Thursday March 29 Judge Parsons sentenced Honjo Teuta taro Fuginaki Mateataro to 20 years hard labor and to pay the costs after pleading guilty to first degree manslaughter. Taki moto Koichi received one year hard labor and costs for assault with a deadly weapon. Other defendants Shim Ming Ok Kang Young Bok Woo Miung Sook Chang Chee Yuel and Kim Young Yee were also sentenced for first degree murder. Han San Won was jailed 25 years for second degree murder. Meanwhile Dr A B Clarke v J G Serrao went to trial with a defense verdict for Serrao after a prior mistrial and the jury was dismissed for two weeks.
