Police To Start Dept To Hear Complaints
Police will establish a community relations department the first week of October to take citizen complaints and comments. Police Commissioner J Arnold Witte said a community relations officer will be available Thursdays for appointments, with all issues to be relayed to Police Chief George Shelbourne. The move aims for professionalism as township officials praised officers for recent arrests. Patrolman James Moriarty resigned, and Chief Shelbourne will be on vacation October 8 through November 2.
