Firemen Retaliate Contract Dispute Erupts Meeting

Health fair in Hillside drew about 2,500 people across the center grounds with 20 health service groups offering tests inoculations and exhibits. The event showcased Red Cross Disaster Services a Glaucoma Van a Chest X Ray Van and guidance from Chiropractic Mental Health and Narcotics teams. Doctors Peyser Carno and Light supervised a rapid entry process by Future Physicians and Nurses clubs under Jaycee oversight.

Rotary Talk on Wire Taps Highlights Crime Fight

Hillside Rotary Club hear Peter L. Korn discuss court ordered wire taps used in Union County. He notes 28 taps disclosed crimes including murder, 2 drug cases, 25 gambling cases with over 150 arrests. Tape shown. taps require court order and stringent proof. Health Fair Committee gains support from local officials and health staff. Public Works provides electrical setup and event logistics.

Silent Vigil Set By Bnai B rith At United Nations

The B N A I B r i t h Hillside Lodge 1514 plans a silent vigil Sunday October 24 1971 at the United Nations Building to show solidarity with Jews in Israel and the Soviet Union. Breakfast at 9 00 a m precedes a 10 30 a m bus trip to the UN with a guest speaker on freedom and equality for Soviet Jews and Jerusalem unity. No funds will be solicited. attendees may bring journal ads.

The Township Committee thanks the Mayor's Committee on Health for a successful Health Fair held Sunday October 17 1971 at the Community Center. Committee members include Dr Harvey Brooks co-chair Martin Prince Dr Joseph Peyser Dr Irving Carno etc. An annual event is planned with volunteers praised for their efforts.

Slimnastics Club Expands to Two Weekly Sessions

David Klurman director of the Hillside Community Center expands the Slimnastics club to twice weekly. Meetings set for Monday and Thursday from 6 30 to 7 15 p.m. aim to help Hillside adults improve health. Assistant Director Sanford Kaplan declines joining until given orange pants like the director wears. Registration remains open for Hillside residents over 21 with a meeting this Monday at 6 30 p.m.
