Robert W. Hung, a radiation physicist from the New Jersey Health Department, will lead a three session talk at the Hillside Hollywood Avenue Fire Station on radiation emergencies. He will cover hazards, regulations, storage, transport of sources, and aim to enable firefighters to assess radiological risks at emergency scenes. Hung's background includes Rutgers physics degree, a master's studies at Trenton State College, Navy service aboard the U.S.S. Canberra, and prior work in engineering and education. The dates are Friday October 18, Monday October 21, and Tuesday October 22 with times 7:00 P.M. for the two evenings and 2:30 P.M. for the Monday session.
Leonard Cohen, president of the B n a i B r i t h Food Industry Lodge of New Jersey, announces a new member drive tied to the organization's fourth anniversary. Richard Savino Assist Dept Head at Bristol Myers Hillside is named among twenty five monthly haiku contest winners for June to November 1968. The competition, sponsored by Union Carbide Corporation cosmetics marketing group, is open to certain cosmetic firm personnel. Winners may compete for a grand prize trip for two to Tokyo.

Michael Metzger son of Emanuel and Mrs Metzger 1451 Hiawatha Ave will be called to the Torah during Saturday morning services for his Bar Mitzvah.
Barbara and Celia Schofield two 22 year old twins from Oldham England visited Hillside Rotary Club at Hillside United Presbyterian Church with their uncle and aunt James and Mrs Nield. They presented banners and toured Pingry School grounds while sharing impressions of American camp life and teen culture noting greater maturity aided by television and automation.

President Phil Levitan announced a civic affairs program with Alan Sagner and James A Skidmore Jr. as guest speakers Herman Berg will moderate. Sagner represents Humphrey Muskie Faction. Raymond J. Farrell of 1133 Bank St is appointed agent for Allstate Insurance Companies. He completed company training and passed New Jersey Banking and Insurance exams to sell casualty and life policies. A Youngstown State University graduate, he will operate from the Sears Roebuck location in Newark and represent the Allstate Motor Club and Safety Crusade locally.
Funeral services for Frank A. Jennings Sr., 67, of 3 Hackensack Street Wood-Ridge were held at Assumption Church. A Jersey City native, he served in Mexico then in World War I earning the Purple Heart. He worked at several New Jersey papers and led Hudson County press groups. He is survived by his wife and three sons two daughters and six grandchildren. The Jennings family planned a visit to Montreal before leaving for England on October 15.
Lawrence P. Golan of Bethlehem has been awarded a Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering at Lehigh University Founders Day. He earned degrees from West Virginia University and taught at WVU and Lehigh before joining Esso Research and Engineering Company in Florham Park. He and his wife Helen Hemko and their three children will reside in Randolph Township New Jersey.
