The ninth annual paid-up membership affair of Bal Brith Women Hillside Chapter will be held at the Terne Rawn in the Daventre Building on Wednesday May 23 at 7 30 pm. Chairs are Mrs Jock Strauss Mrs Seymour Epstein and Mrs Sherman Luckno. Initiation ceremony by past presidents Moe Steinman and Abe Sharnack. Choral group led by Mrs Max Gulkin with soloist Mrs Seymour Winters. Entertainment by Eli Mintz Uncle David of the Goldbergs fame. Refreshments after program.

Girl Scout Troop 16 held a Mothers Day party Friday in the Curtis Room at Harden-Locker School. Each girl performed a dance or recited a poem, mothers received bread baskets handmade by the scouts, and refreshments were served.
Congressman Harr A Williams of Westfield will be guest of honor at the Union County Women’s Democratic Club annual dinner at the Elizabeth Carteret Hotel on May 23. Mrs Patrick J McGann says Williams will give the main address with Mrs Lloyd Luther also speaking. Reservations close May 19.
