Pingry School Wins Tax Exemption On $125000 Assessments
The New Jersey State Supreme Court ruled Pingry School entitled to exemptions on $125 600 of Hillside tax assessments for five faculty houses on Masters Square and two on Haviland Drive The 6 0 decision reversed an Appellate Division ruling The court found the rental setup on campus justified the exemption noting the landlord tenant relation was secondary to providing housing for faculty and did not constitute profit The total assessments were $157 159 with prior taxes about $9 942 The township will likely absorb the loss from the reserve for uncollected taxes.
