Stanley Avenue Springfield. Elin-Unger Post 273 will chair the first nomination of officers for 1973 74 with Jack Schechter (Hillside) as chair. The post, the nation’s first Blue Ribbon Post for a second year, has entered the top ten in membership size for the first time in its history. Commander Schechter credits Viet Nam era and in service members for the surge and notes the post now leads inservice membership. An open invitation to eligible veterans to attend March 11 1973 meeting is issued. The Elin-Unger Post 273 was the first Jewish War Veterans post chartered after World War II.
