Palladino resigns as Hillside senior program coordinator

Firehouse theatre and HELP programs end in Hillside

Hillside faces a blow as the HELP employment listing and the Firehouse Theatre Players shut down. Officials blame weak job markets and shifting hiring practices, noting most HELP listings never led to work while the town retained some hires. Board appoints Linkletter to $22,500 position

The Board of Education, after a tense session, appointed Colin W. Linkletter as Administrator Assistant to the Business Administrator Secretary at a $22,500 annual salary. The vote tally was 4 0 with two abstentions, amid disruptions as several members left. Linkletter's duties include supervision of buildings and grounds.

Central Ave Teens, DME Parking Clash Roils Town

At Tuesday caucus angry Central Ave residents pressed town officials over ongoing juvenile disturbances. DME Co revoked pool parking in its industrial lot citing employee and property protection concerns. Town leaders proposed strict noise enforcement and discussed curfew as they faulted DME for the parking cutback.

Picnic 77 Invites Hillsiders To A Full Day Of Fun

The town hosts Picnic 77 a second annual event on Sunday July 3 from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Conant Street Park with live entertainment magic country and bluegrass music food rides sports competitions and free admission. Bring lawn chairs and join the community gathering. Schedule may change.

Cancer specialists deplore Laetrile firm stance resolution

A unanimous vote by the Oncology Society of New Jersey rejects Laetrile as an anti tumor agent. They state Laetrile has no proven value for cancer treatment or prevention and warn it may harm by delaying effective therapy. The society emphasizes informing the public and supporting best available treatments.
