The 42nd Hillside High commencement at Woodfield Stadium Conant Street celebrated the largest class of 393. Speakers covered social political and cultural responsibilities. Principal Dr Walter Krumbtegel received the class gift and awarded tuition aid and scholarships totaling 200 to Linda Clavets Evelyn Spital and other students. Scholarships included Douglass College and nursing teaching funds with multiple donors and amounts.

Roselle zoning clash over Route 278 extends into freeway plan

Hillside High Summer School Opens with Weekend Enrollment
Wayne I Branom the Hillside Schools superintendent announces the summer session starting Monday with registration tomorrow 9 to 3 and Saturday 9 to 12 in the high school cafeteria. Regular classes run 8 20 a m to Friday August 6 under the high school principal and vice principal. Parents may call the high school office for more information.

Pair To Appear In Court Tonight
Jon Waorers, 24, of 242 Ferry Street, Newark, and Arthur Reardo, 29, of New York City, were released on $100 bail each for a Municipal Court appearance tonight. They were arrested on disorderly charges at 30 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, at Nottingham Way and Revere Drive by Police Lt. Joseph R. Smith after failing to give food accounts of themselves. Cabrera also received a summons for not having a valid driver's license.

Boy 14 Injured In Bike Car Crash
Thirteen year old, 14, suffered cuts to the left leg when his bicycle struck a car driven by 47 year old Austin Patrizio. The collision occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Harden Street near Salem Avenue. He received emergency care from Dr. Ralph A. Schwartz and was sent to St Elizabeth Hospital for X rays. Patrizio said he was turning from Harden into Salem when the bike hit the car’s front bumper.

Hillside Magistrate Henry Goldner last Thursday night found James A. Osbeon of 1249 Broadway guilty of driving while on the revoked list and fined him $205. He was ordered to appear tonight to answer charges of driving while under the influence. Other actions in the June 17 session included Mrs. Rita Thomas fined $100 for disorderly conduct. Donald Shafer fined $15 for car without proper inspection sticker. Several others were fined for traffic related offenses and toll violations.
