Walter Riemann 40 of 325 Ans Street Newark employed in the Highway Commission equipment dept injured when debris and a log were discharged from a crane near North Avenue and the river line. Missing Liberty Bell Found By Hillside Man
Joseph A Loew of 260 Cram Street Hillside with 23 years in the town uncovered a six foot high replica of the Liberty Bell hidden under canvas in Terry's Auto Repair on Liberty Avenue. He donated the $10 reward to the Hillside Ambulance Squad instead of keeping it. The find ended a search contest started by the Liberty Avenue Businessmen's Association. The donor acknowledged Charis Wernicke Jr Chapter 66 DAY and Otto Zimmerman, Liberty Avenue Association vice president, who accepted for the squad.
