The Mayor's Citizen Advisory Committee endorsed preliminary plans for a municipal pool of 10 000 sq feet with a 1250 sq foot wading pool at Central Avenue Recreational Field. The project costs about 333 500 dollars funded by bonds with no taxpayer cost if revenues cover payments.

Final plans announced for a 50th anniversary dance honoring Hillside’s Golden Jubilee. The event at the Polish American Citizens Club on Bloy Street runs from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Admission is free for residents and families with music by the Musicians' Association of Elizabeth Local 151 through the Music Performance Trust Fund. Co-sponsored by the Polish American Citizens Club and Hillside Kiwanis Club. Co-chairs are Edward Tyranski and Henry Goldhor.
