Petey the Clusive Squirrel Monkey Returns to Owners
A pet shop monkey named Petey escaped July 4 from Hollywood Pet Shop on Liberty Avenue and roamed Newark area warehouses before being coaxed into a yard and recaptured by the SPCA. Petey eluded catchers at the Jiffy warehouse until Mrs. William Kovach lured him with a towel and bananas, then handed him to Frank Gagliardi of the Humane Society for custody at SPCA quarters. He was later reclaimed by the pet shop owners, ending a days long chase through Newark streets and homes.
