Former mayor cites ordinance as pool party moved to parking lot
Marvin Corwick, ex-mayor, forced a Saturday pool party for adults to relocate to a municipal parking lot after citing a rule banning alcohol in pool areas. Police Captain James Silva advised attendees to leave the pool area to avoid violations. Corwick questioned who funded the event, warned against using tax or recreation funds for such gatherings, and urged the Township Committee to address the issue. The pool commission defended the ordinance, noting it prevents drinking when minors are present, a rule historically waived for pool dances while Corwick served on the commission.
