Cartridge Blast Injures Two Youths
Two youths were injured when a CO2 gas cartridge exploded as one tried to hammer it into wood. Dave Schuster, 16, of 12 Long Ave, suffered severe injuries to a finger. James Nolte, 14, of 26 Vine St, was cut on the throat. They were transported by police to Dr. Joseph Peyser and Schuster later to Overlook Hospital.

Vehicles For Civil Defense In Union County
Union County Civil Defense will release two personnel carriers for emergencies. Each 25 to 30 feet long, they carry 15 men and equipment, navigate hills and rough terrain, and operate in depths of three and a half feet of water. Carriers will be stored at the Union County Road Department yards in Scotch Plains and released to municipalities as needed. A Sisterhood meeting of Sinai Congregation is set for Monday February 22 at 8:30 p.m. at the Sinai Youth Center. Special program featuring Betty Best is arranged by Mrs. Sherman Borkan. Uphold Pingry Tax on Faculty Homes
