Board Votes to Resubmit Unchanged School Budget

The Board of Education, by unanimous vote, will re submit the same budget defeated in last week's election. A special referendum is set for February 24 from 2 to 9 pm on Current Expense 1 536 525 and Capital Outlay 10 000. The total 2 49 901 includes income 378 486 and debt service 187 048. Abe Charnack says the budget is good and urges continued support. New members Mildred Hess and Jack Valenti express support for the budget.

Share And Humanik Elected New School Board Officers

Lute Share advanced to the presidency of the Hillside Board of Education at the annual meeting, with Peter Humanik chosen as vice president for a second 3 year term. New members Mrs Mildred Hess and Jack Valenti were sworn in, and resolutions honoring retiring Ram and Charnack were presented. Regular meetings will continue on the second Wednesday at 7 30 pm with Hillside Times named official publication for notices.

School Budget Defeated in February Voter Revue

Voters defeated the school budget in a February 9 election amid public protests over high school expansion on Livingston road and bus service cuts. Hillside Lodge awards yearbook honor to Hillside Industrial Foundation

The Americanism Award of Hillside Lodge 1514 B'nai Brith was presented to the Hillside Industrial Foundation at George Washington School. Lodge leader Robert Lipson presented to Morris ton with plaques for member firms. Dr. Hyatt urged equality of opportunity and highlighted projects including the Wilside Ambulance Squad and the Hillside PAL building campaign with a $40,900 pledge. Mayor DiBuono praised the lodge and industry cooperation.
