Hillside Camera Club wins Mallas trophy at New Jersey event
Agnes Thomas of Hillside, member of the Hillside Camera Club, claims the Mallas trophy for best color slide of 1967 at the New Jersey Federation of Camera Clubs dinner in Mountainside. Her slide Hurrying Home, shows three silhouetted children at sunset, besting 14 slides with eight honorable mentions. Judges included Frank Brunner George Munz and Benjamin Cokin. Attendees numbered 185 from 31 clubs. The Mallas trophy honors Dr. William Mallas. The Hillside club will hold its Fifth Annual Fotographic Exhibition February 29 at 8 p.m. at Hillside High School, paired with the Community Orchestra Winter Concert.

Union County Trust Company posts new highs in earnings gross income deposits and loans for 1967 led by an 11.8 percent earnings gain to 1.573 million and deposits at year end near 173 million.
