Town System Is Best Deal according to official

Samuel Porster proposes Hillside survey to join a large New Jersey water system using Irvington as a model. He estimates Irvington would save on water costs after a $6.5 million consolidation debt over 40 years, financed at 2.5 percent, with annual water payments around $450,000 and potential tax relief as debt amortizes. He argues municipal ownership lowers cost, improves reliability, and reduces reliance on private firms.
