Soviet Educators Visit Hillside Fieldhouse Plan in Hillside Vote
Hillside voters will decide at the annual school district meeting on February 13 to approve an additional 5000 for a Woodfield Stadium fieldhouse expansion. Bids exceeded the 25000 initial approval, with alternates added for a refreshment stand. Low base bid 24375 plus alternates 2500 and other costs push over, prompting the board to seek the extra funds. The district also adopted a 1963-64 tentative budget using 100000 from the High School surplus to shrink the tax rate, and noted 8648 left in a special surplus account.

Russians inspect Hillside schools for programed instruction method
Three Soviet educators Vladimir Strezikozin Sergey Chuikov and Alexey Shirakikh visited Hillside Avenue School and Hillside High School to observe programed instruction and teaching machines.
